Spirit Move Within Our Hearts: The Story of how Sisters In The Spirit was formed

Main Truth: 'This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord ! 'Ezekiel 37:4-5

In early 2016, the Spirit began moving several women in El Dorado Hills towards a common goal. These women had all experienced the same theme of God impressing a message of encouragement for women of all ages and stages to unite together and build each other up. This was all WITHOUT them knowing one another! God divinely gathered these women through a network of mutual friends. It was VERY clear; God wanted a gathering of women in the community, no matter what church they attended or even if they attended church at all. He wanted women to gather as THE CHURCH.

In 2018, these women worked to make this vision a reality and CULTIVATE A LIFE OF PURPOSE, a one-day women's conference to equip and empower the women in their life and their faith, was born. The goal for the conference was to create an inviting environment for women to come together in community and cultivate a life of purpose set apart for Him.

See what happened that day...

After CULTIVATE A LIFE OF PURPOSE, it became evident it was just the beginning. God was not done! The Spirit moved a core group of women to join their talents and gifts for His Glory to create a ministry for women to continue growing in their faith that expanded outside their community. In 2019, Sisters In The Spirit officially formed.

Through prayer and revelation the purpose and vision of Sisters In the Spirit centered around DISCIPLESHIP - moving believers to disciples to disciplemakers. The board’s desire is to inspire a movement that will "water" the seeds of faith already planted and waiting to anxiously grow.

Post written by: Samantha DeLeon Samantha has grown up going to church, but didn't encounter Jesus until her mid-thirties. Jesus met her on a road of anxiety and over commitment, turning her faith from a spectator sport to a team player on the field. Samantha's mission is to encourage women like herself, "the overachiever-need to help everyone-over committed-never full" life into the abundant life Christ promises and trust Him through life's ups and downs. Samantha is a California native, married to her high school sweetheart and they have 3 school-aged children.
